The archaeological site Guancha and the Cueva Pintada
The Tourism galdar greatly depends on the archaeological area of the coast, well known by the name of La Guancha , the archaeological site of La Guancha is located one kilometer from the center of Galdar and is one of the most important archaeological complexes of the Canary Islands .
Of the original buildings with buildings was saved only the famous Cueva Pintada and its proto around which is currently under investigation .
Leacock and agricultural innovations
The British engineer David Leacock of wealthy English family, was in love when he inherited in Galdar agriculture and farmland lived there from 1918 until his death in 1980 ;
Leacock has a strong bond with Galdar and with the island’s agriculture which brought innovations compared to traditionally dependent on agriculture monoculture .
Leacock increased the yield of the land but not for profit, and it was a true pioneer in the industry on the island.
Its laboratories and its houses meet before arriving at the Cueva Pintada to the complex of La Guancha.
