Agaete is a municipality of the ‘island of Gran Canaria located at the North West (the one closest to Tenerife ) , the municipality of Agaete has 5748ab. (Source: INE 1/2010) and is headed by the province of Las Palmas .
The Municipality of Agaete is located at an altitude of 43m above sea level and covers an area of 45.5 square kilometers, and with a density of population total capacity of 126,33 inhabitants / km ².
This municipality borders Artenara and Gáldar, contiguous to it; cap of Agaete is the 35480.
Features of the town of Agaete
Arriving at Agaete, its historic center houses the Church of La Concepción (1874 on the remains of previous church destroyed by fire), located at the site where once the hermitage was built (1515) , La Concepción serves as a crossroads in the center to move of Agaete and fulcrum of the main streets of the city and the town hall square.
Opposite the church is located on the Plaza de la Constitución surrounded by the main city buildings .

Festa de la Rama and Virgen de Las Nieves

Puerto de Las Nieves

Also in Puerto de Las Nieves are visible triptych dedicated to the Nuestra Senora de las Nieves (Van Cleve XVI sec.) And the Hermitage. From the harbor you can finally enjoy the grandeur of the Teide.
The town of Agaete is reachable by bus (line Gáldar) that drive through the road C-810 that leads to Puerto de Las Nieves.
